Before & After

The King Tut exhibit at the Science Museum of Minnesota was impressive – from the grand entrance to the gorgeously displayed artifacts.

And the goodies in the post-exhibit shop were pretty awesome too (photo credit: @princesssushi).

This post is dedicated to one of the most stylish exhibits I have ever experienced.

Ancient Jewelry

The gold finger “stalls” were part creepy and part compelling. I mean, who needs fake nails when you can have fake gold fingertips?  Never mind that these are for burial purposes…

And the jewelry was beautiful in all its gold glory. It’s no wonder we have so much great jewelry to choose from, after seeing these inspiring pieces.

I was completely enamored with the mega-sized sculptures – it’s hard not to gasp when a human form is reconstructed twice the normal size.

And the teeny, tiny sculptures were also gasp-worthy with all the detail worked in to such small figures.

The payoff at the end of the exhibit – a replica of King Tut’s mummified body – was intense and almost beautiful considering it’s from over 3,000 years ago.

Thank You

Special thanks to the Science Museum of Minnesota (@sciencemuseummn) for the opportunity to preview and take photos of this exhibit, which did a remarkable job giving an art gallery-like feel to how the items were displayed.
