Smart Casual Outfit for First of June…Is It Summer Yet?

I had a networking/planning meeting today with a couple of women, which didn’t require a power outfit so I went with a more relaxed, but smart, outfit.

• Cotton green ruffled sweater: Talbots petites, still love the color, ruffle detail and gold buttons.
• Cotton floral printed blouse: Ann Taylor LOFT petites, wish this shirt had a little spandex in it, but overall, one of my favorite spring/summer tops.
• Denim skirt: Ann Taylor LOFT petites, I wear this skirt so much, I hope it lasts through the season!
• Gold leaf necklace: Von Maur, definitely a good necklace as it has yet to start showing any wear.
• Silk espadrilles: Lauren from Macy’s, I just saw they are selling these shoes in different colors at the Southdale Macy’s.

Tahari Tuesday…a.k.a. Coral Pink Shirtdress

The thing I love most about this dress is the color.  It’s so hot, it makes me look like I have a tan!

It’s also incredibly comfortable, lightweight with a nice lining and I think it does a decent job on my shape.

The only thing I don’t like is the belt.  From the front it’s fine but the back is a fabric covered elastic.  It reminds me a tad of something that might be more suited to my grandma but since I love everything else about the dress, I decided to overlook that aspect.

The belt could be swapped out but a stiffer belt makes the back look really bunchy.

Found this dress in the petites department at Nordstrom…here’s the closest thing to it online, available in regular and Plus.

The necklace is gold with leafy pieces on a short chain.  I opted for this because I wanted the color to be the statement today.

The brown silk wedges are Lauren by Ralph Lauren from Macy’s.  They’re very comfy now that I have a gel shoe insert in them.
